11 Digital Product Ideas That Actually Sell (I’ve Tried Almost All Of Them!)

Ready to turn your ideas into income? Here are 11 proven digital product ideas that I’ve personally sold (and still sell today!) that can help you start your own online business from home. No shipping, no stress, just freedom to work on your terms.

Let me guess… you’re tired of chasing random side hustles or trading hours for dollars. I’ve been there too.

When I first started, I wasn’t looking for a flashy overnight success story. I just wanted a way to earn money that didn’t mean sacrificing time with my family or constantly feeling burnt out. That’s when I stumbled into the world of digital products and honestly, it’s changed my entire life.

What started with a simple Canva template in my tiny Etsy shop grew into a six-figure business, multiple streams of income, and the freedom to work around raising my two beautiful daughters. The best part? Most of the digital products you’ll see on this list are things I’ve actually created and sold myself, so I know first-hand that they work.

And the beauty is, there’s something here for everyone. Whether you’re a total beginner or a seasoned creative, one of these ideas can become your stepping stone into the digital product world.

Let’s dive in.

1. Ebooks

One of the very first digital products I created was a simple guide. I didn’t overthink it, I just pulled together knowledge I already had, and people bought it. That’s the power of ebooks. If you know how to bake bagels, budget better, or organise your home, you can write one too.

Formatting and selling them is easier than you think with platforms like Etsy, Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing or Gumroad. And the magic? Once it’s launched, it can keep selling while you sleep.

2. Online Courses

I’ll admit, this one felt intimidating at first. But the truth is, you don’t need to be a professor or an expert speaker. My very first course was created on a shoestring setup, just me, my laptop, and the knowledge I wanted to share.

And yet, it’s still selling today. Platforms like Teachery, Skool, Teachable or Udemy make it easy to reach people who want to learn what you know. If you can help someone save time, learn a skill, or feel more confident, you can create a course that makes a difference.

3. Digital Planners and Templates

This one is close to my heart because it’s where my digital product journey really took off. I started with Canva templates, and those little files changed everything.

People love plug-and-play solutions that make life easier, think planners, trackers, checklists, resumes. They’re quick for you to create, and buyers get instant value. And yes, selling templates is still one of my main income streams today.

4. Stock Photos

Photography was never my gig, but I’ve got friends who dabbled in stock imagery, and let me tell you, it’s one of those products that just keeps giving back. If you’ve got a smartphone and an eye for detail, you can take high-quality shots that bloggers, marketers, and businesses are always hunting for. Upload them once, and they can earn for years.

5. Presets and Filters

This is such a fun one. Remember those Lightroom presets that were “everything” when Instagram feed aesthetics were a thing? They’re still in demand, because people love quick fixes for beautiful photos. If you’re someone who’s always tinkering with editing, this could be a sweet niche to try.

6. Printables

Printables are honestly one of the easiest ways to dip your toes into digital products. I’ve sold everything from wall art to party invitations, and the beauty is, you make them once, and buyers can download them instantly.

Think seasonal bundles, holiday packs, or themed sets that people come back for again and again.

7. Music and Audio Files

While this one isn’t my personal lane, I’ve seen friends and fellow creators do really well selling sound effects, podcast intros, meditations and music loops. If you’re musically inclined, there’s definitely room to carve out a niche here.

8. Fonts and Graphics

As someone who loves design, this one feels like pure creativity turned into income. Fonts, clipart packs, illustration bundles… you name it. If you’ve got a knack for design, you can sell to an audience of teachers, business owners, and other creatives who are hungry for unique assets.

9. App Templates and Plugins

Okay, this one’s more technical, but if you’ve got coding skills, there’s serious money in building tools that save people time. I’ve bought plenty of these myself (things like calculators or landing page templates) because they shortcut the work.

10. Membership Content

This is where my journey expanded beyond Etsy. My membership, The Creator’s Growth Club, came from wanting to offer more than just one-off products. Memberships are powerful because they give you recurring income and let you build a community.

It doesn’t have to be complicated—you can start with simple tutorials, resources, or even behind-the-scenes content. People will pay for connection and guidance.

11. Workbooks and Interactive PDFs

I love workbooks because they do something for the buyer. Habit trackers, reflection journals, business planners, these are all products I’ve created and sold. They help people take action and see results, which makes them so valuable.

Final Thoughts

If you take nothing else away from this list, let it be this: you don’t need to wait until you’re “ready.” I wasn’t ready when I launched my first digital product. I just chose an idea, created it in Canva, and hit publish. That one small step grew into a business that completely transformed my life and gave me the freedom I craved.

Every single product on this list proves that digital products are not just a trend—they’re a pathway to building something that works on your terms. Whether it’s an ebook, a template, or a full membership, there’s room for you here.

So, what’s calling to you? Pick one idea, put it out there, and see what happens. You’ll never know the ripple effect until you start.

Trust me, the best time to begin is right now.
